Damaged Motor Mounts

One cause for a shaky Chevy vehicle are damaged motor mounts. If one of them is broken, it causes a lot of strain on the other one which causes the shaking. The good news is that if you find this is the issue, it is a simple fix.

Set aside some time to drive your Chevy into the shop to have the damaged part replaced.

Lug Nuts Are Not Tight Enough

Another cause for a shaky Chevy when accelerating are your lug nuts. If the lug nuts on your tires are loose it can cause a significant amount of shaking. If you do not tighten the lug nuts properly, you are at risk of losing a wheel while driving on the road.

If you find this is the problem, then the solution is simple. Use a torque wrench to tighten each lug nut on the wheel. The sooner you get this done the better.

Unbalanced Tires

Got new tires put on your car recently? Maybe unbalanced tires are the main cause of your shaky Chevy vehicle. The uneven tires cause a consistent vibration while the car is in motion. It can sometimes even cause the steering wheel to wobble.

If you find this is your problem or if you are not sure, it is best to take your Chevy to a tire shop or mechanic to get them balanced.
